DG press Holding

DG press is the specialist in building and maintaining professional printing machines (so-called web offset) with more than 30 years of experience.

About DG press

DG press was founded in August 2009 and emerged from the bankruptcy of Drent Goebel, manufacturer of web offset printing presses. DG press started with 10 former employees of Drent Goebel and has now grown into a globally operating organization with more than 41 employees as of December 31, 2021.

We provide service for printing companies that work with Drent Goebel machines (DG-Vision, VSOP and Gazelle). In the early years, the emphasis was therefore often on carrying out maintenance on existing machines and selling spare parts.

In 2013 we moved to the former Drent Goebel building. This gave us the opportunity to build new machines and grow into a specialist in engineering, production, installation and maintenance of Drent Goebel printing machines.

Our mission is to be the best partner for the printing industry by supplying top quality hybrid web offset printing machines with variable dimensions and delivering exceptional services, enabling our customers to achieve their production goals in the most sustainable way. Our customers are active in the markets for security printing, flexible packaging and labels. We are also active in commercial printing, pharmaceutical leaflets and business forms.

NEW MACHINES

DG-AUXO

The DG-AUXO is a hybrid web offset printing machine designed for the production of film and foil-based flexible packaging, label and security printing applications. The DG-AUXO is a proven 3rd generation press, based on successful features of previous models such as the VSOP combined with further improvements in design. Flexibility, versatility and durability are key factors of the DG-AUXO press. The machine is available in different track widths to suit different market requirements. DG-AUXO excels at short to medium print jobs with the highest print quality while being the most durable choice in the industry.

DG VISION

The DG-Vision is a web offset printing machine. By web offset we mean that the DG-Vision prints from a roll. The machine consists of various modules that are placed one after the other based on customer wishes in such a way that the desired product can be printed. In the past we even delivered a 44 meter long setup of the DG-Vision to a customer. The DG-Vision has standard modules, but how the modules are put together ultimately makes the machine a tailor-made production line for printing paper, especially for the security printing market.

USED MACHINES

In addition to new machines, we also offer second-hand web offset printing machines of the type DG-Vision, Gazelle and VSOP. We therefore offer the DG-Vision both new and second-hand and we only offer the Gazelle and VSOP machines second-hand.

EXPANSIONS

Extensions are extensions that we add to existing machines. These can be existing developments that we add to a machine or a completely new functionality that we develop based on a customer's wishes.

SERVICES

In addition to building and selling printing machines, we also offer maintenance services. Our added value is that we maintain close and direct customer contact with our buyers. We are driven to support our customers with complex questions in the context of (offset) printing. We have all the disciplines in-house to provide service on both hardware and software on our own machines. We are also able to assist our customers in finding solutions for all kinds of questions in the field of printing and to expand existing machines with new techniques (the extensions). We can also supply all spare parts.

Our markets

We focus our products and services on offset printing of:

Flexible packaging

Flexible packaging customers vary depending on the product. These companies produce packaging for food, pharmaceutical products, cleaning products and animal feed, among other things.

The number of packaging and labels is expected to increase in the coming years, partly due to demographic growth.

Tags/labels

The customers of labels and tags are mainly large label makers. These companies produce labels for shampoo bottles, drinking bottles and tubes, among other things. The global label printing market is constantly growing.

Security printing

The customers for security printing are mainly state-owned companies and private companies that supply state-owned printing companies. These companies produce, among other things, stamps, identity cards, lottery tickets, exam forms, diplomas, voting forms and valuable papers such as banknotes. We mainly approach this market through the sale of the DG-Vision.

It is important for security printing to prevent falsification of documents. Counterfeits can be intercepted by using special paper and watermarks. Furthermore, copying such documents can be made even more difficult with special printing techniques. This global label printing market is also constantly growing.

Sustainability

Sustainability has been an important point of attention for printers and processors for years and has a huge impact on printing. Packaging requirements are constantly changing due to stricter market regulations for food safety and environmentally friendly production. Printing on bio-based and environmentally friendly materials and less waste during production are also challenges that printers and converters face.

We expect growth in the use of packaging materials that are (easier) recyclable. At the moment, plastic is still often used as packaging material. These plastic packaging generally consists of several different layers of laminated materials. Multiple layers of material to be printed that consist of different types cannot be recycled. Single-layer materials are easier to recycle. We therefore expect a growth in demand for these “mono materials”. Many new materials are currently being developed to achieve more sustainable packaging. This trend of using other packaging materials that are more easily recyclable is advantageous for offset printing.

Loan purpose

We want to borrow a maximum of € 1.500.000 from investors. With this money we want to:

  1. repay the maturing NPEX bond loan; and
  2. repay a maturing loan from a third party.

We want to use the money from the bonds to repay the current NPEX bond loan. On March 9, 2020, we issued bonds with a term of 5 years. This loan therefore expires on March 9, 2025. We have always met our interest obligations on time over the past 5 years.
