DeLaRue orders first DG-AUXO 520, next generation offset printing press DG press

The very first DG-AUXO offset printing press has been ordered by our long-term customer DeLaRue (DLR). DeLaRue PLC group specializes in the supply of cash handling equipment and security products. The company produces approximately 150 national currencies, electronic transaction solutions and identity systems. Their various security items include stamps, vouchers, passports, traveler's checks, driver's licenses, ATM cards, security papers, wires and tear tapes.

DLR has in the past invested in a rotary offset printing press for the production of tax stamps and other security printing products. After several years of successful production on that press, it was time to scale up production. Over the years, DG press has worked closely with DLR to manufacture, install and maintain their current offset printing press at the production facility in Malta. Thanks to this fruitful and successful collaboration, DLR did not have to look further into the market and decided again DG press to work together. DLR chose the excellent print quality and versatility of the DG-AUXO to expand their security printing production capacity at their facility in Malta.

"The DG press printing press, which we started using in 2018, is still running strong with the right performance and quality of printing. This reliability is of the utmost importance to the activities of DeLaRue Authentication. This is no coincidence, but the result of teamwork between DeLaRue and DG press, the robustness of the design and excellent/cost-effective support at service level. Building on this, the authentication division embarked on a strategic project to invest in a second printing press from DG press to increase its capacity and continue to improve service levels for existing and future customers.”
- Alessio Gatt, Engineering and Transformation Manager at DeLaRue

The new DG-AUXO will provide substantial additional production capacity for security printing applications at DLR, but will also support the existing production volume currently running on other printing presses. The printing press is currently produced by DG press and will be installed and operational at the DLR Malta factory by mid-2023.

The DG-AUXO is the latest generation of high-tech offset printing presses equipped with sleeve technology. Servo-driven spindles for positioning the plate and cloth cylinder enable very fast job changes, reducing machine setup time. The highest print quality can be guaranteed thanks to the use of high-line screening techniques to produce photorealistic images. The DG-AUXO is available in 3 widths: 520 mm, 900 mm and 1085 mm. While the smaller DG-AUXO 520 is ideally suited for security printing, the wider DG-AUXO 900 and DG-AUXO 1085 are specifically designed for printing flexible packaging. High print quality, low pre-press costs, fast time-to-market and solvent-free inks make the DG-AUXO an ideal printing press to meet smaller print runs and higher sustainability requirements in the flexible packaging market.

The DG-AUXO is the successor to the Thallo. DG press has created a new design to improve performance and functionality. The main differences are the available material widths and mandrel diameters. Overall, the DG-AUXO offers significant improvements over the Thallo, with better performance and greater reliability.
