Quest Medical Imaging signs agreement to supply platform technology to leader in medical robotic systems.

Middenmeer, December 3, 2019 - Medical technology company Quest Medical Imaging BV. (QMI) from Middenmeer, the Netherlands, specialized in the development and sales of high-quality medical cameras, today announces a development and supply agreement in the fast-growing market for medical robotics systems. The basis for this partnership is QMI's advanced fluorescent image-guided surgery technology. More details will be shared as development milestones are reached.

This collaboration is part of QMI's three-pronged strategic plan: first, to directly commercialize its fluorescent product offering for the tissue perfusion assessment and sentinel node identification markets in Europe and the US; second, to provide essential imaging capabilities to our three commercial partners for cancer visualizing agents; and finally, to select key robotic partners for specific markets, who can maximize the clinical value of our technology platform.

"This is very good news for us and an important milestone in the history of our company“said Richard Meester, President/CEO of the Quest group.

"We believe that our technology will play an important role in the development of medical imaging and visualization in the coming years. It will be a key technology for visualizing the invisible for surgeons and possibly robotic systems to, for example, autonomously limit potentially dangerous movements that could lead to patient harm. "

QMI's multi-sensor, multi-wavelength imaging technology is unique in the world, allowing up to 5 parallel image sensors to be used for image processing. Together with new filter technologies, QMI is able to image a multitude of different wavelengths in parallel, allowing advanced imaging and segmentation techniques to extract and visualize valuable real-time information from the imaging data.
